A Candle For Remembering
May this memorial candle lights up the historical past of our beloved Country: Rwanda, We love U so much. If Tears could build a stairway. And memories were a lane. I would walk right up to heaven. To bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken. No time to say goodbye. You were gone before I knew it And. Only Paul Kagame knows why. My heart still aches with sadness. And secret tears still flow. What It meant to lose you. No one will ever know.

Welcome to Home Truths

The year is 1994, the Fruitful year and the Start of a long epoch of the Rwandan RPF bloody dictatorship. Rwanda and DRC have become a unique arena and fertile ground for wars and lies. Tutsi RPF members deny Rights and Justice to the Hutu majority, to Congolese people, publicly claim the status of victim as the only SurViVors while millions of Hutu, interior Tutsi and Congolese people were butchered. Please make RPF criminals a Day One priority. Allow voices of the REAL victims to be heard.

Everybody Hurts

“Everybody Hurts” is one of the rare songs on this list that actually offers catharsis. It’s beautifully simple: you’re sad, but you’re not alone because “everybody hurts, everybody cries.” You’re human, in other words, and we all have our moments. So take R.E.M.’s advice, “take comfort in your friends,” blast this song, have yourself a good cry, and then move on. You’ll feel better, I promise.—Bonnie Stiernberg

Can't forget. He murdered my mother. What should be my reaction? FYI: the number of orphans in Rwanda has skyrocketed since the 1990's Kagame's invasion. Much higher numbers of orphans had and have no other option but joining FDLR fighters who are identified as children that have Lost their Parents in Kagame's Wars inside and outside of Rwanda. If someone killed your child/spouse/parent(s) would you seek justice or revenge? The perverted RPF committed the unspeakable. Two orphans, together against the world. Point is the fact that their parents' murder by Kagame & RPF held no shock in the Western world. Up to now, kagame and his death squads still enjoy impunity. What goes through someone's mind as they know RPF murdered their parents? A delayed punishment is actually an encouragment to crime. “I always think I am a peaceful person but if someone harmed someone near and dear to me, I don't think I could be so peaceful. This should be seen in the context of accusations that Rwanda has plotted to kill dissidents abroad. A recent investigation by the Globe and Mail claims, “Rwandan exiles in both South Africa and Belgium – speaking in clandestine meetings in secure locations because of their fears of attack – gave detailed accounts of being recruited to assassinate critics of President Kagame….

Ways To Get Rid of Kagame

How to proceed for revolution in Rwanda:
  1. The people should overthrow the Rwandan dictator (often put in place by foreign agencies) and throw him, along with his henchmen and family, out of the country – e.g., the Shah of Iran, Marcos of Philippines.Compaore of Burkina Faso
  2. Rwandans organize a violent revolution and have the dictator killed – e.g., Ceaucescu in Romania.
  3. Foreign powers (till then maintaining the dictator) force the dictator to exile without armed intervention – e.g. Mátyás Rákosi of Hungary was exiled by the Soviets to Kirgizia in 1970 to “seek medical attention”.
  4. Foreign powers march in and remove the dictator (whom they either instated or helped earlier) – e.g. Saddam Hussein of Iraq or Manuel Noriega of Panama.
  5. The dictator kills himself in an act of desperation – e.g., Hitler in 1945.
  6. The dictator is assassinated by people near him – e.g., Julius Caesar of Rome in 44 AD was stabbed by 60-70 people (only one wound was fatal though).
  7. Organise strikes and unrest to paralyze the country and convince even the army not to support the dictaor – e.g., Jorge Ubico y Castañeda was ousted in Guatemala in 1944 and Guatemala became democratic, Recedntly in Burkina Faso with the dictator Blaise Compaoré.

KAGAME VS JUSTICE

Thursday, February 25, 2010

On February 25th, after reports that he would be assassinated within 60 days appeared in Umuseso, a newspaper published in Kinyarwanda, the African language shared by all Rwandans, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda Chair Frank Habineza wrote this letter to the Minister of Internal Security requesting protection:

FRANK HABINEZA

B.P. 6334 Kigali, Tel: 078 85 630 39, Email: fhabineza@rwandagreendemocrats.org

25th February 2010

The Minister of Internal Security
KIGALI, RWANDA
Dear Sir,
Re: Security Threat to My Life, Requesting for Protection.

I would like to take this opportunity to draw your kind attention to very disturbing events that have in the recent past surrounded my daily life as the Chairman of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), a party that, as you very well know, is yet to be registered.

Since Early February this year, there has been several verbal reports about my imminent demise through assassination. At first I dismissed that information as ordinary rumours that form part of the occupational hazard of a politician’s life. I had tried to ignore the various threats, intimidation and harassment I have been subjected to, including those committed to our members since 30th October 2009.

However, subsequent events have forced me to reconsider all aspects relating to my security. Recent Press reports published in UMUSESO No.396, of 22 Feb-01 March 2010, on Page two, reveal that there are people who plan to kill me in 60 days, according to reliable sources. I also have information which I can’t substantiate that there are planned robberies, beatings, grenade attacks and harassment being prepared against my family in particular and other Senior Leaders of the party. Other details indicate that we are supposed to be assassinated before the August 2010 Presidential elections.

Similar events have happened to Ms.Victoire Ingabire. She was beaten by a mob at Kinyinya Sector in Kigali also in February 2010.

These security threats are preceded by an event that happened to me on 4th February 2010, while i was at Hotel Le Printemps, Kimironko, Kigali, sharing a soft drink with a friend Jean Paul MUDAHERANWA aka. Sunday, a certain person unknown to me approached us and greeted me in my names and then told me in a menacing voice, that they are watching me very closely and asked me why I was fighting them, yet they paid for my education. I reported the matter to Police on 5th February 2010 and on 9th February; i gave a full statement to Remera Police Station in Gasabo District.

In a country like Rwanda, which is supposed to follow the rule of law and trying to be democratic, where a significant community believes to be peaceful, these developments are very worrying.
The Purpose of this letter is therefore to request you to use your good offices to verify these threats and if found true then bring the perpetrators to book. I would also like to request you to ensure my security in particular and that of the senior Leaders of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and fellow opposition Leaders in other yet to be registered parties.

I am looking forward to getting a kind consideration from you.

Yours Faithfully

Frank HABINEZA

Chairman, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda

In a letter dated 16th February 2010 to the Mayor of Nyarugenge District, our political organisation requested the authorization to hold our constitutional congress in Kigali on 26th February 2010.
In a delay tactic move, on 22nd February 2010, the Mayor of Nyarugenge Dictrict summoned to her offices Ms. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, the Chair of the United Democratic Front INKINGi to explain the arrangements related to the meeting. On 24th February the security details were discussed and the District Socio-Political Affairs Development Unity promised to issue its final decision the same day.

Kigali 25th February 2010

It is strange that one day before the congress no decision has been yet taken by the relevant local administration. This issues follows yesterday's Nyarugenge Primary Court ruling that handed various jail sentences to editors of Umuseso after they were found guilty of defaming and invading the privacy of Cabinet Affairs Minister Protais Musoni.
Arusha, 18 February 2010

[It will soon be 16 years since the double assassination of two sitting African heads of state triggered what has come universally to be considered one of the most gruesome mass crimes of the 20th Century: The Rwandan Genocide of 100 Days (6 April to 16 July, 1994).

And though all the evidence gathered by the French investigative magistrate, Jean-Louis Bruguière, and by various agents (mostly Defense lawyers) of the UN's International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha, Tanzania, have built an ironclad case against the current military dictator of Rwanda, General Paul Kagame, and his Rwandan Patriotic Front, those international institutions that should long ago have been clamoring for an investigation into this signal terrorist event, have found themselves bound and gagged by those member-states (US, UK and Israel) who have been the chief sponsors and beneficiaries of the Rwandan genocide--as well as all the other military interventions in service of globalized waste capital.
Seven years after the Rwandan genocide, a similar civil aviation-related terrorist event occurred that also triggered mass killing across the globe: the September 11, 2001, attacks on NYC and Washington, DC. And just as with 4/6/94, nothing that could seriously be called an independent investigation of 9/11/01 has ever taken place.
Almost as an admission of its complicity in the crime, the US government ordered the 911 Commission Report, a sort of brazen comb-over of the few brittle evidentiary hairs to cover the bald-faced lies that founded the popular narrative of what happened on that sunny Black Tuesday in 2001. Ever the star pupil, Kagame’s Rwanda has aped the 911 Commission Report with two of its own: the Mucyo Commission—charging France with complicity in the Rwandan Genocide of 100 Days—and the Mutsinzi Commission—absolving the RPF and charging the former Rwandan (majority Hutu) government with the assassination of its own leader and the liquidation of 10% of its population. Neither of the reports of these Rwandan Commissions is worth the disk space they’d take up on your computer, and the UN political prisoners in the Detention Facility out by the Arusha airport, have put the lie to both of them. And in doing so they have kept hope (for Truth, Justice, and Peace through Reconciliation) alive.
The Obama Justice Department under Eric Holder seems to want to keep the gravedigger’s shovel off the 911 dossier, as well. His idea to try KSM and his associates in NYC—near the putative scene of their putative crime—has brought some interesting opposition—mostly from the Bush/Cheney extended families and their as yet unindicted co-conspirators. I cannot imagine a more bracing, a more enlightening and ennobling experiment than placing the events of 911 into the crucible of the American criminal justice system. Just the discovery hearings—with some of that ADAD crew on D—would give the consensus nonsense mongers the dribbling squirts.

But for now, take some cues—and some clues—from the UN Political Prisoners in Arusha on Rwanda’s 911. –mc]

Press Release 001/02/2010

The RPF drums of war are growing in strength.

Netherlands.- The rest of the world is being informed on how Rwandans are transformed by the tools of the RPF propaganda machine into a nation of xenophobic bigots, slowly being bred to hate the scapegoats and concocted enemies Mrs. Ingabire Umuhoza Victoire, the FDU presidential candidate and Mr. Frank Habineza, the Rwandan Greens leader.Today it is widely known the lies told repeatedly to the world community are aimed to speed up assassination of the guilty Hutu  and speed up the extermination of those declared Interahamwe.
Knowing the final outcome, and triumph of the heavyweight criminal and tyrant of Rwanda, all machinations needed to steal the 2010 election are believed to be implemented in these coming days, showcasing a disregard for the will of the Rwandan people and democracy in pursuit of Kagame's absolute power.

Today, while twitterers across the globe were diligently retweeting the Rwandan Government tweet: "Three grenade explosions occurred in Kigali on Friday evening, resulting in one death and thirty injuries", one lonely twitterer went upstream: Josh Treviño, communications director for U.S. Senate candidate (R) Chuck DeVore (California): "So this Rwanda story breaking now reminds me: it's probably past time for Paul Kagame to go." It actually got quite interesting when he got the impression that I accused him of racism for not being a Kagame fan.

The Permanent Consultative Council of Opposition Parties in Rwanda, which brings together the United Democratic Forces–Inkingi, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and Le Parti Social-IMBERAKURI has learned with shock and horror about grenade attacks that occurred last night, 19th Feb 2010, almost simultaneously in three different localities of Kigali.

At the moment, there are conflicting reports about the number of dead and injured. However a major issue at hand is the protection of the lives of innocent and defenceless citizens who are at serious risk.

These cowardly and wicked acts are meant to instill fear in the population at a crucial time when we are heading for the Presidential elections in a few months.

We categorically condemn these barbaric acts in the strongest terms possible and call upon the Rwandan Government, as we have done in recent past to:

1. Investigate and bring to book the perpetrators of these acts.

2. Guarantee the security of all people and their property.

3. Ensure a fair hearing for the suspects when they are apprehended.

I have just learned from colleagues in Rwanda, and in the diaspora here in Canada, that the Criminal Investigation Department of the Rwandan National Police have summoned Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza to return for further questioning on Monday 22 February at 1pm Kigali time.
This is best interpreted as another RPF-led search for legitimacy for its policy of genocide ideology. There is no actual proof (based on Mme. Ingabire's speeches and the vague definition of the genocide ideology law) that any transgression has occurred.

This, of course, is besides the point. It is but another example of the authoritarian and arbitrary rule of the RPF.

It must also be said that the more the RPF harrasses and seeks to intimidate Mme. Ingabire into submission (compliance to its policies and politics?), the greater the burden on Mme. Ingabire, should she be allowed to stand as a presidential candidate, to seek consensus among Rwandans of all ethnicities, social groupings and economic classes.

We've yet to see a platform from Mme. Ingabire, and we don't know much about what are her plans for Rwanda. Memorializing the lives lost during the genocide and all the lives lost before, during and the after the genocide. What about the economy? Who are her main aides and allies? Does she enjoy popular support in the hills? Perhaps this is because she has yet to officially register as a candidate, and consequently cannot campaign.

Mme. Ingabire's continued harassment at the hands of the RPF makes it difficult, if not impossible, for her to get on with the business of being a politician.

London. - Amnesty International has strongly condemned a worrying attack on a Rwandan opposition group as the country prepares for presidential elections in August 2010.
In a letter to Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Amnesty International urged him to use the elections as an opportunity to show the government’s commitment to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly.

“Past elections have been marred by intimidation, however this year’s vote gives Rwanda the chance to promote rights not repression,” said Amnesty International’s Africa Programme Deputy Director Tawanda Hondora.

The letter was prompted by a recent attack on two members of United Democratic Forces (Forces Démocratiques Unifiées, FDU-Inkingi) and harassment of the President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (Parti Démocratique Vert du Rwanda, DGPR).

Eastern Congolese women are not only raped and tortured in the violent scramble for the region's vast natural resources; their suffering is then manipulated to raise funds for the non-profit industrial complex, and to justify ongoing U.S. military engagement.
Sometimes I despair of ever seeing the truth come out about the imperial scamble for resources in D.R. Congo and the rest of Africa. Now even Link TV, generally considered to be a "progressive" outlet, is quoting the NY Times's Nicholas Kristof on how much he'd like to see an earthquake, like Haiti's, or a tsunami in Eastern Congo turn attention to the "barbaric civil war" in Eastern Congo:

I cannot tell you how much I admire this woman. She must know she has no serious chance of becoming Rwanda's next president. Instead, she is playing the much more important (and dangerous) role of revealing to international and Rwandan observers alike the extent to which President Paul Kagame and his RPF controls the political landscape.

She is what the Rwandans call igipinga, meaning someone with deep-rooted principles.

On February 10, 2009, Human Rights Watch issued a news release, "Rwanda: End Attacks on Opposition Parties," but the attacks haven't ended. FDU-Inkingi candidate Victoire Ingabiré Umuhoza was facing another interrogation, by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Rwandan Police, at the time I recorded this KPFA Radio News including some of my most recent conversation with her. She was once again released, though still unable to register the FDU-Inkingi Party.

Meanwhile, Kigali's Gasabo District has once again refused to give the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda a permit to hold the convention that it must hold to field a presidential candidate, because the police have not given them a "clearance," even though nonviolence is one of the 10 key values of Green Parties worldwide.

Seven hundred people took over Brussels City Hall at the end of January to launch the celebrations of the cinquantenaire (fiftieth anniversary) of Congolese independence in Belgium. Fabien Kusuanika interviewed some of those who attended. Cheik fita did a great job summarizing the event.

The word "cinquantenaire" should off course immediately remind all of us of Belgium's own Cinquantenaire in 1880. King Leopold II, who played an extremely ugly role in the history of Congo, even built a parc for the celebrations, the "Parc du Cinquantenaire", or in Dutch "JubelPark" (Translated this means "parc of wild celebration"). The celebration website rdcongo50.be and video of the launch event were put online last week.

(Picture: moroka media, Oscar Nkala, Matabeleland, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe)In June 2009 Djengis Gabor, President of VON, representing a large number of minority organisations in the Netherlands, had written a letter to all Dutch political parties voicing his concern. He was worried because signals had reached him that Dutch political parties were blocking the road to minority candidates at local elections out of fear. Djengis Gabor reminded these political parties that migrants are still underrepresented in Dutch politics and that they still have a lot of work to do in this respect. At the time the media ignored this.

Yesterday however, we learned, that indeed, this time around Dutch political parties at the local level have put even fewer candidates of foreign origin on their lists in local elections. In Rotterdam for example, a city where about half of the population is of foreign origin, only 20 percent of the municipal candidates have an immigrant background.

Mohammed Benzakour, blogger at the muslim immigrant blog wij blijven hier ("we stay here") voiced the exasperation of many immigrants in the Netherlands with Dutch politics in his article "The Dutch Labour Party is not worth our vote" (English summary here).

Allthough the Netherlands has about 3 million immigrants within it's borders, political parties have been ignoring immigrants for another four more years. Why would immigrants now all of a sudden have to make the effort to get out and vote? The walk to the voting booth is not worth it! Let's just stay home.

Everything happens for a reason

Bad things are going to happen in your life, people will hurt you, disrespect you, play with your feelings.. But you shouldn't use that as an excuse to fail to go on and to hurt the whole world. You will end up hurting yourself and wasting your precious time. Don't always think of revenging, just let things go and move on with your life. Remember everything happens for a reason and when one door closes, the other opens for you with new blessings and love.
