RPF committed the unspeakable

Il déplore au passage que jusqu'à présent, la France ait, selon lui, éludé ses propres responsabilités dans le génocide. Dominque Sopo s'en prend même à certains responsables français qui auraient tenu, d'après lui, un discours « négationniste ». Ces derniers, écrit Sopo, auraient tenté de relativiser le génocide des Tutsi en évoquant celui « prétendument » commis par le Front Patriotique Rwandais, le mouvement rebelle conduit par Paul Kagame qui prit le pouvoir en juillet 1994. [Amidst the fracas surrounding Rwanda's former Ambassador to India Kayumba Nyamwasa and his sudden decision to seek asylum in South Africa,much is being said about his role in the recent grenade attacks in Kigali and an attempted coup d'etat. I wanted to get to the bottom of this;who better to give his side of the story than the man himself. Below is an interview with Kayumba. We discuss among many issues his wife's house arrest in India,President Kagame's press conference in which he says that Kayumba fled from justice, etc.]
Kigali - Kayumba ancien chef d’état-major de l’armée rwandaise a confirmé être actuellement en Afrique du Sud et réfute les accusations rocambolesque portées contre lui par le régime de Kigali.
En effet, au cours des derniers jours Kigali indiquait rechercher celui qui fut également chef des renseignements pour des actes criminels encore à préciser. Nul doute que la fuite de l’officier supérieur a pris de cours les responsables de Kigali.
Deux mandats d’arrêt internationaux contre lui
Le gros problème pour Kagame et les autres officiers supérieurs de l’armée rwandaise c’est qu’ils sont sous le coup de deux mandats d’arrêts internationaux. Jusqu’ici Kayumba Nyamwasa profitait de l’immunité que lui conférait son statut de diplomate pour éviter d’être appréhendé. Or maintenant, n’ayant plus le statut de diplomate et sachant les projets de Kagame pour lui, s’il est arrêté il risquerait de coopérer avec la justice international, témoigner contre Kagame et éventuellement négocier des aménagements en tant que témoin clé. C’est cela que le régime de Kigali cherche à éviter à tout prix en lançant une chasse à l’homme tous azimuts/
Des accusations pour le moins surprenantes
Kigali accuse en effet, Kayumba Nyamwasa d’être derrière les grenades ayant explosé récemment dans la capitale rwandaise pour semer le chaos dans le pays. Il aurait été aidé en cela par le colonel Patrick Karegeya, ancien chef des renseignements extérieur tombé également en disgrâce, qui avait été emprisonné deux ans avant de prendre la fuite, lui aussi pour l’Afrique du Sud. Cette accusation est d’autant plus étonnante que le porte-parole de la police avait annoncé, non sans certitude, que les responsables des attaques à la grenade étaient en fait les fameux interahamwe, d’ailleurs trois suspects ont même été arrêtés et ont avoués séance tenante.
Collaboration avec la justice internationale
Dans son interview à la BBC le général à indiqué qu’il avait pris la fuite pour des raisons de sécurité craignant pour sa vie et a également précisé qu’il est prêt à faire face à la justice internationale parce qu’il ne croit pas en celle du Rwanda.
Kayumba Nyamwasa était ambassadeur en inde jusqu’à la semaine dernière. Il a confirmé que sa famille est maintenue en captivité dans leur domicile de la capitale indienne.

La situation est plus que grave pour le général Kagame puisque le témoignage du général Nyamwasa risquerait de le mener tout droit en prison pour les crimes de genocide, crimes contre l'humanité, crimes de guerre et de terrorisme dont il est accusé par la justice internationale.
En témoignant contre le dictateur rwandais devant la justice internationale le general Kayumba Nyamwasa, qui est l'un des seuls officiers supérieurs du Rwanda a avoir fait des études, sortirait le Rwanda de l'impasse dans lequel il se trouve et mettrait toute la région sur la voie de la paix. Surtout que le sort que Kagame lui réserve en cas de capture n'est surement pas a envier!

.The symbolism was incendiary. In front of the mass graves where 250,000 genocide victims are buried, a Rwandan politician dared to speak of the Hutus who were killed in those same terrible months in 1994.
Perhaps more astonishingly, Victoire Ingabire was not imprisoned for her taboo comments – not so far, at least, although the police have interrogated her three times and accused her of the crime of spreading “divisionism.”

leaders of the Permanent Consultative Council, feel safer staying in Rwanda, but former Rwandan Ambassador Jean Pierre Bizimana seems to have tried running, after, refusing to help assassinate FDU-Inkingi leader VIctoire Ingabiré Umuhoza, according to Ingabiré, and/or, helping her obtain travel documents to return to Rwanda, according to sources unnamed by 256.com.

On February 25th, after reports that he would be assassinated within 60 days appeared in Umuseso, a newspaper published in Kinyarwanda, the African language shared by all Rwandans, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda Chair Frank Habineza wrote this letter to the Minister of Internal Security requesting protection:

Re: Security Threat to My Life, Requesting for Protection.
I would like to take this opportunity to draw your kind attention to very disturbing events that have in the recent past surrounded my daily life as the Chairman of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), a party that, as you very well know, is yet to be registered.
Since Early February this year, there has been several verbal reports about my imminent demise through assassination. At first I dismissed that information as ordinary rumours that form part of the occupational hazard of a politician’s life. I had tried to ignore the various threats, intimidation and harassment I have been subjected to, including those committed to our members since 30th October 2009.
However, subsequent events have forced me to reconsider all aspects relating to my security. Recent Press reports published in UMUSESO No.396, of 22 Feb-01 March 2010, on Page two, reveal that there are people who plan to kill me in 60 days, according to reliable sources. I also have information which I can’t substantiate that there are planned robberies, beatings, grenade attacks and harassment being prepared against my family in particular and other Senior Leaders of the party. Other details indicate that we are supposed to be assassinated before the August 2010 Presidential elections.
Similar events have happened to Ms.Victoire Ingabire. She was beaten by a mob at Kinyinya Sector in Kigali also in February 2010.
These security threats are preceded by an event that happened to me on 4th February 2010, while i was at Hotel Le Printemps, Kimironko, Kigali, sharing a soft drink with a friend Jean Paul MUDAHERANWA aka. Sunday, a certain person unknown to me approached us and greeted me in my names and then told me in a menacing voice, that they are watching me very closely and asked me why I was fighting them, yet they paid for my education. I reported the matter to Police on 5th February 2010 and on 9th February; i gave a full statement to Remera Police Station in Gasabo District.
In a country like Rwanda, which is supposed to follow the rule of law and trying to be democratic, where a significant community believes to be peaceful, these developments are very worrying.
The Purpose of this letter is therefore to request you to use your good offices to verify these threats and if found true then bring the perpetrators to book. I would also like to request you to ensure my security in particular and that of the senior Leaders of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and fellow opposition Leaders in other yet to be registered parties.
I am looking forward to getting a kind consideration from you.

In a letter dated 16th February 2010 to the Mayor of Nyarugenge District, our political organisation requested the authorization to hold our constitutional congress in Kigali on 26th February 2010.
In a delay tactic move, on 22nd February 2010, the Mayor of Nyarugenge Dictrict summoned to her offices Ms. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, the Chair of the United Democratic Front INKINGi to explain the arrangements related to the meeting. On 24th February the security details were discussed and the District Socio-Political Affairs Development Unity promised to issue its final decision the same day.

It is strange that one day before the congress no decision has been yet taken by the relevant local administration. We believe that the authorization has been derailed by political manoeuvrings from the RPF government in order to hinder the opposition's full participation in the country's democracy.

Yesterday's edition of Umuseso published claims of an RPF plot to kill Mr. Frank Habineza. A translation of part of the article follows below. This issues follows yesterday's Nyarugenge Primary Court ruling that handed various jail sentences to editors of Umuseso after they were found guilty of defaming and invading the privacy of Cabinet Affairs Minister Protais Musoni.
[It will soon be 16 years since the double assassination of two sitting African heads of state triggered what has come universally to be considered one of the most gruesome mass crimes of the 20th Century: The Rwandan Genocide of 100 Days (6 April to 16 July, 1994).
And though all the evidence gathered by the French investigative magistrate, Jean-Louis Bruguière, and by various agents (mostly Defense lawyers) of the UN's International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha, Tanzania, have built an ironclad case against the current military dictator of Rwanda, General Paul Kagame, and his Rwandan Patriotic Front, those international institutions that should long ago have been clamoring for an investigation into this signal terrorist event, have found themselves bound and gagged by those member-states (US, UK and Israel) who have been the chief sponsors and beneficiaries of the Rwandan genocide--as well as all the other military interventions in service of globalized waste capital.
Seven years after the Rwandan genocide, a similar civil aviation-related terrorist event occurred that also triggered mass killing across the globe: the September 11, 2001, attacks on NYC and Washington, DC. And just as with 4/6/94, nothing that could seriously be called an independent investigation of 9/11/01 has ever taken place.
Almost as an admission of its complicity in the crime, the US government ordered the 911 Commission Report, a sort of brazen comb-over of the few brittle evidentiary hairs to cover the bald-faced lies that founded the popular narrative of what happened on that sunny Black Tuesday in 2001. Ever the star pupil, Kagame’s Rwanda has aped the 911 Commission Report with two of its own: the Mucyo Commission—charging France with complicity in the Rwandan Genocide of 100 Days—and the Mutsinzi Commission—absolving the RPF and charging the former Rwandan (majority Hutu) government with the assassination of its own leader and the liquidation of 10% of its population. Neither of the reports of these Rwandan Commissions is worth the disk space they’d take up on your computer, and the UN political prisoners in the Detention Facility out by the Arusha airport, have put the lie to both of them. And in doing so they have kept hope (for Truth, Justice, and Peace through Reconciliation) alive.
The Obama Justice Department under Eric Holder seems to want to keep the gravedigger’s shovel off the 911 dossier, as well. His idea to try KSM and his associates in NYC—near the putative scene of their putative crime—has brought some interesting opposition—mostly from the Bush/Cheney extended families and their as yet unindicted co-conspirators. I cannot imagine a more bracing, a more enlightening and ennobling experiment than placing the events of 911 into the crucible of the American criminal justice system. Just the discovery hearings—with some of that ADAD crew on D—would give the consensus nonsense mongers the dribbling squirts.
But for now, take some cues—and some clues—from the UN Political Prisoners in Arusha on Rwanda’s 911. –mc]
